The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean by area. It covers approximately 63 million square miles (165 million square kilometers), making it larger than all the Earth’s landmasses combined. The Pacific Ocean spans from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Southern Ocean in the south and is bordered by Asia and Australia to the west and the Americas to the east. It accounts for more than one-third of the Earth’s surface and plays a vital role in global weather patterns and marine biodiversity.
