The Rigveda is the oldest known Veda.
It is considered the earliest and most important of the four Vedas (Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda), composed around 1500–1200 BCE. The Rigveda contains hymns (suktas) dedicated to various deities and reflects early Vedic civilization’s religious, social, and philosophical thought.
