The last ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire was Sri Ranga III. He ruled from 1792 until the fall of the empire, which was due to the defeat at the Battle of Talikota in 1565. After the battle, the empire weakened and eventually disintegrated. However, Sri Ranga III ruled during the later years when the empire was in decline. The collapse of Vijayanagara marked the end of its power in southern India.
