The Pacific Ocean is the deepest ocean in the world. It contains the Mariana Trench, which is the deepest known point on Earth’s seabed. The trench reaches a depth of about 11,034 meters (36,201 feet) at its lowest point, called the Challenger Deep. The Pacific Ocean is also the largest ocean by area and holds more water than all other oceans combined. Its depth and vastness make it important for marine biodiversity and global climate.
