The Kuiper Belt is a region of the solar system that lies beyond the orbit of Neptune, roughly from 30 to 55 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun. It is home to a vast collection of icy objects, including dwarf planets, comets, and asteroids. Some of the most well-known objects in the Kuiper Belt include Pluto, Eris, and Haumea.
The Kuiper Belt is similar to the Asteroid Belt but much larger and located further out in the solar system. It is thought to be the source of many short-period comets that come into the inner solar system.
