1. **Childhood (Close Bond):**
During his early years, the author and his grandmother shared a close relationship. She took care of him, helped him get ready for school, accompanied him there, and spent time praying while he studied religious texts.
2. **Boyhood (Growing Distance):**
When they moved to the city, the bond between them weakened. The author began attending an English school, and she could no longer help him with his studies. She disapproved of the subjects he learned, such as science and music, and they spent less time together.
3. **Adulthood (Complete Separation):**
As the author grew up and went to university, they started living in separate rooms. Later, when the author went abroad for higher studies, the distance between them became even greater. Despite this, she remained affectionate and prayed for his well-being.
These phases depict the gradual distancing in their relationship as the author grew older and their lives changed.
