Maharishi Gautam is associated with Nyaya philosophy. He is traditionally credited as the founder of the Nyaya school of logic and reasoning in Indian philosophy. Nyaya focuses on the principles of logical analysis, epistemology, and the methodology for acquiring valid knowledge (pramana). The Nyaya Sutras, written by Gautam, lay the foundation for this philosophical tradition, emphasizing inference, perception, comparison, and verbal testimony as sources of knowledge.
