The treaty that ended the First World War was the Treaty of Versailles. Signed on June 28, 1919, the treaty officially ended the war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It imposed heavy reparations and territorial losses on Germany and redrew the map of Europe, which contributed to political tensions leading up to World War II.
